Suíca por um mês / Switzerland for a month

             O Robert (irmão do Chuck) e sua família moram em uma cidade tranquila localizada nas redondezas de Zurique. A cada dois anos, durante o verão, eles passam um mês nos Estados Unidos em um encontro de família, período no qual precisam de alguém que cuide da casa, do jardim, do cachorro e dos gatos. Como nós chegaríamos na Europa neste período, foi uma combinação perfeita.

             Nós estamos gostando muito de viajar, mas não podemos negar que ficar bastante tempo em um mesmo lugar foi ótimo. Nós aproveitamos a casa, jogamos diferentes jogos, assistimos filmes, fizemos pipoca, passeamos com o Sparky (o cachorro), molhamos o jardim. Foi tudo uma delícia! Eles têm um home theatre, uma mesa de pebolim, uma mesa de ping pong, videogames e diversos jogos, então entretenimento não faltou.

Nós realmente nos sentimos como se estivéssemos em casa, o que foi muito bom depois de tanto tempo fora! Nós fomos ao supermercado felizes da vida, compramos coisas para cozinhar e, claro, muito chocolate!!! Comemos também muito pão e queijo! Na Ásia tudo isso é difícil de encontrar e caro, já que não faz parte da alimentação diária. E afinal de contas, nós estamos na Suíça, onde a qualidade destes produtos é fantástica.

             A paisagem nas redondezas da casa é deslumbrante! Apesar de estarmos há apenas 15 minutos de Zurique, a cidade é totalmente tranquila, como se estivéssemos no interior. Uma região montanhosa com enormes picos brancos ao fundo e campos verdes a perder de vista, como se estivéssemos o tempo todo olhando para uma foto propaganda do país. E o verão aqui tem uma temperatura amena, dias quentes e noites frescas, o que é muito confortável!

As caminhadas com o Sparky foram deliciosas! Ele não tem raça definida e é lindo! Tem 10 anos, mas uma carinha de bebê. Ele é muito obediente e treinado, anda fora da coleira na rua, mas sempre nos segue e faz tudo o que pedimos, um anjinho! Ele se acostumou muito bem com a gente, o que foi ótimo!

              Nós conhecemos o Silvan pelo couchsurfing, ele mora em um bairro próximo. Nós jantamos juntos e conversamos bastante, o que foi muito legal. No dia primeiro de agosto ele levou para um picnic no lago e para um churrasco suíço na casa de um amigo em comemoração ao dia nacional da Suiça. Em outra ocasião nos levou à uma feira escocesa muito divertida e também para esquiar no lago, puxados por uma lancha. A paisagem era inacreditável! O dia estava lindo, o que realçava o azul turquesa do lago e as enormes montanhas ao redor faziam a paisagem parecer uma pintura.

               Nós também visitamos uma cidade vizinha, onde ficamos (também pelo couchsurfing) na casa do Markus e da Evelyn, um casal muito especial que já recebeu mais de 70 convidados pelo site. É muito bom conhecer pessoas tão maravilhosas quanto eles. A cidade se chama Lucerne e fica localizada nas margens de um rio cristalino. Nós fizemos longas caminhadas ao seu redor e nos deliciamos com as suas lindas construções.

              A famosa organização do país é realmente notável. Tudo é impecavelmente limpo e tudo funciona! O trem sai exatamente às 11:04 e chega exatamente às 11:49, em ponto! Um minuto de atraso é motivo para o condutor pedir desculpas pelo microfone. Nós lemos um livreto engraçado sobre a Suíca que brincava que o país era tão organizado que Alemanha e Áustria eram considerados “menos organizados” e Itália e França são “geralmente desorganizados”.

              Nós vamos sentir saudades do país, da casa e principalmente do Sparky, mas agora é hora de seguir viagem novamente. Próximo destino: Alemanha!

Robert (Chuck's brother) and his family live in a quiet town located on the outskirts of Zurich. Every two years, during the summer, they spend one month in the United States in a family meeting, during which they need someone to take care of the house, garden, dog and kittens. As we would arrive in Europe in this period, it was a perfect combination.

We are very happy with all our travelling, but we can’t deny that spending time in only one place was great. We enjoyed the house, we played different games, watched movies, made popcorn, walked with Sparky (the dog), watered the garden. Everything was very fun! They have a home theater, a foosball table, a ping pong table, video games and many other games, so entertainment was not lacking.

We really felt like we were at home, which was very good after being away for so long! We were happy to go to the supermarket, we bought things to cook and, of course, a lot of chocolate! We ate tons of bread and cheese! In Asia this is all hard to find and expensive, since it is not part of the daily diet. And, after all, we are in Switzerland, where the quality of these products is fantastic.

The landscape surrounding the house is stunning! Although it is just 15 minutes from Zurich, the city is absolutely quiet, as if it was in the countryside. A mountainous region with huge white peaks in the background and green fields that go out of sight, as if we were looking at a picture advertising the country. And summer here is very nice, hot days and cool nights, which was very comfortable!

The walks with the Sparky were delicious! He has no specific breed and is so cute! He is 10 years, but has a baby face. He is very obedient and well trained. He walked without the leash in the fields, but always followed us and did everything we asked, a little angel! He got used to us very well, which was great!

We met Silvan through couchsurfing, he lives in a nearby town. We had dinner together and talked a lot, which was very cool. On August 1st he took us to a picnic in the lake and to a Swiss barbecue in a friend’s house to celebrate the national day of Switzerland. On another occasion he took us to an amazing festival in celebration of the Scottish culture and also to ski on the lake, pulled by a speedboat. The scenery was unbelievable! The day was beautiful, which emphasized the turquoise lake and the towering mountains around the landscape looked like a painting.

We also visited a nearby city, where we stayed (also through couchsurfing) with Markus and Evelyn, a very special couple who had already received over 70 guests using the website. It's great to meet such wonderful people! The city is called Lucerne and is located on the banks of a glassy river. We went for long walks around and delighted in its beautiful constructions.

The famous organization of the country is really something you can notice. Everything is spotless clean and everything works! The train leaves the station at exactly 11:04 and arrives at exactly 11:49! One minute late is reason for the train conductor to apologize in the microphone. We read a funny little book about Switzerland that joked that the country was so tidy that Germany and Austria were considered “less organized” and Italy and France “usually disorganized”.

We will miss the country and mainly Sparky, but now it's time to go traveling again. Next destination: Germany!
