Pão, cerveja, relógio cuco... Alemanha!! / Bread, beer, cuckoo clock... Germany!!

A maioria dos países da Europa faz parte de um acordo e por isso nós podemos passar apenas 3 meses circulando por eles. Nós descobrimos que não há como estender este prazo e por isso pudemos passar apenas uma semana na Alemanha.

Passamos os primeiros dois dias em Fussen, uma cidade muito pequena localizada na região da Bavaria na fronteira com a Áustria. Nela há um castelo muito bonito que foi inspiração para muitos filmes da Disney e por isso a cidade recebe muitos turistas. A beira de um rio muito azul, ela tem um clima muito legal e é muito típica bavariana. Muitos restaurantes com mesinhas ao lado de fora em ruas estreitas, muitas pessoas andando para todo o lado e as construções são muito charmosas. Tudo lembrava muito Leavenworth, a vila bavariana em que vivemos nos Estados Unidos.

Ficamos na casa do Axel, o que foi o máximo! Ele mora em um apartamento grande e muito diferente, tinha um espaço muito grande sem estilo definido. Móveis estilo antigos faziam contraste com os modernos, tinha um cinema (literalmente) enorme e uma mesa de sinuca muito legal na sala. Ele nos levou para conhecer a cidade e para uma trilha próxima que tinha vistas lindas. Nós comemos pães típicos alemães e tomamos cervejas deliciosas! Fora as conversas que são sempre muito interessantes.

Seguimos então para Augsburg, uma cidade maior, mas também muito bonita. Ficamos com a Conny, o que, para variar, foi o ponto alto! Ela nos levou em um restaurante bem local com música ao vivo tradicional bavariana, o que foi o máximo! O restaurante era um pouco escondido, mas tinha um grande jardim do lado de dentro e acho que nós éramos os únicos estrangeiros lá. Outro dia a Conny cozinhou um Käsespätzle, uma massa de ovos com queijo e cebolas caramelizadas, um prato bem local que é uma delícia! Passamos um domingo em seu lindo quintal, o Pedro fez uma pizza e tomamos vinho com uns amigos dela. Que dia gostoso.

Em Freiburg, nosso último destino na Alemanha, ficamos na casa do Daniel, um estudante que dividia o apartamento com outras 6 pessoas. Todos muito simpáticos. A programação foi totalmente diferente e muito legal. Jogamos um jogo a noite, depois de um jantar tradicional alemão, nadamos em um lago próximo, aproveitando o estranho calor alemão e nos divertimos muito.

Foi apenas uma semana, mas a passagem pela Alemanha marcou bastante. O pão alemão é normalmente preto e pesado, cheio de grãos dos mais diferentes tipos, o que faz dele bem diferente do que estamos acostumados e muito muito bom! A cerveja nem se fala. Os chopps enormes, saborosos e leves, toma-se vários sem sentir. Os sem álcool são estranhamente populares. Isso tudo fora a enorme simpatia e disposição das pessoas com as quais convivemos.

Estamos agora em Portugal e um pouco atrasados com o blog, já que a programação tem sido intensa. Mas em breve postamos a respeito. =)

Most European countries are part of an agreement so we can spend only 3 months around them. We found that there is no way to extend this period so we could spend just a week in Germany.

We spent the first two days in Fussen, a very small town located in the Bavaria region on the border with Austria. There's a stunning beautiful castle that was the inspiration for many Disney films and that’s the main reason why the city receives so many tourists. Located on the edge of a very blue river, it has a great atmosphere and very typical Bavarian constructions. Narrow streets, where many restaurants have tables outside, a lot of people walking everywhere and charming buildings. Everything reminded very Leavenworth, the Bavarian village we lived in the United States.

We stayed with Axel, which was great! He lives in a very different and large apartment with a lot of space and no defined style. The furniture had kind of an old style with a modern contrast. He had a cinema (literally) that was huge and a really nice pool table in the living room. He took us to see the city and to a very nice hike with beautiful views. We ate the typical German bread and drank delicious beers! And the conversations are always very interesting.

We went then to Augsburg, a larger city, but also very beautiful. We couchsurfed with Conny, which was the highlight! She took us to a very local restaurant with traditional live Bavarian music, which was great! The restaurant was a bit hidden, but had a large garden on the inside and I think we were the only foreigners there. On another day, Conny cooked Käsespätzle, which is egg noodles with cheese and caramelized onions, a local dish that is a delight! We spent a Sunday in her beautiful backyard, Pedro made a pizza and drank wine with some friends of her. What a good day.

In Freiburg, our last destination in Germany, we stayed at Daniel’s house, a student who shared the apartment with other six people. Everyone was very friendly. The activities were totally different and very cool. We played a game one night after a traditional German dinner, swam in a nearby lake, enjoyed the odd German heat and had a lot of fun.

It was only a week, but passing by Germany was very remarkable. The German bread is usually black and heavy, full of grains of many different types, which makes it quite different from what we are used to and it’s very very good! We don’t ever need to start about the beer. The huge draft glasses, tasty and light, you can easily drink it all. The alcohol-free are strangely popular. All of this without even mention the enormous sympathy and willingness of people we got to know. Absolutely fantastic!

We are now in Portugal and a little late with the blog, since the schedule has been intense. But we will soon post about it. =)
